Glad you're enjoying those projects! They are a blast, and it's been 
great to be/have been a part of them. We've got a nice update to 
pinmame coming literally in a few days, though I don't see us moving 
to the latest source from MAME anytime soon. We are way behind 
versions at this point, and to bring the sources up to the latest 
code would take a tremendous amount of effort which nobody seems to 
have time nor desire to do. The biggest reason though, is probably 
lack of a compelling reason to go through all the pain to do it. :)

Having not played with the new artwork features of MAME recently, how 
would you see that benefiting pinmame? (be specific)
If I can get someone (or myself) excited about the idea, perhaps we 
could at least discuss moving to the latest source branch.
