Hello, I just spent two hours at our church trying to help our paster get his laptop to connect to the internet. It is a new Compaq laptop with a wireless connection and was working fine last week.
I don't have any wireless gear, so I am no expert. The connection reports "Limited or no connectivity" or "Unable to obtain an IP" It sees the router and shows an Excelent signal strength, but will not get an IP. I checked everything I could but the IP it reports is 169.254 ... instead of 192.168... Other laptops have no problems connecting to the network and all the hard wired computers work fine also. Anyone have this problem or know of a solution? Thanks, Kent _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
