Since he's using VFP9, it wouldn't have any impact for your end-user 
(since VFP7, iirc), right? 

I agree with you though, as ASSERTs allow you to bypass 
stopping/stepping sometimes, and are effective in situations where 
events like Activate or GotFocus cause issues when trying to debug 
(because they keep firing when you switch to/from the debug window).
