OK, that's one laptop which Vista is slower on. On the one I'm using to
type this, it's at least as fast and noticeably faster at dealing with
several large apps being open at the same time. 

I have to say that at the minute I don't see any major reason to go for
Vista over XP SP2. Down the line a ways, after a Vista SP1 release, that
situation will probably reverse.

Having said that, I didn't pay for Vista, I got it via our corporate
MSDN sub. I have to say I was looking at the pricing for MS Office Small
Business Edition in PC World yesterday and it is very expensive.
