Boker looks like they make some nice knifes.

I hate the thought of hand to hand combat and would take extraordinary
mean to avoid it.

I took judo classes while stationed a Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas. In
the first lesson, the class learned how to take a fall. In the second
class we learned how to throw an opponent by kicking his legs out from
under him. On the third class, we learned how to throw the opponent
over our right shoulder. Also, on the third lesson we did some real
sparring, and I damn near whip the who class, taking on opponents one at
a time. I won 13 matches straight. Then some B52 pilot was able to
throw me and wouldn't let me up, so he won. I was exhausted by then,
and didn't even know that being held down counted as a throw, (eg you
win a match by throwing you opponent twice, so the B52 pilot won by
throwing me and pinning me down for a period). The instructor of the
class wanted to take me down to San Antonio to compete in a tournament,
but my boss wouldn't let me go, so that was the end of judo for me.

The Strider knife is great, but it amazingly light. I haven't tried it
yet, but I don't think it would be a very good throwing knife. Back in
my younger days, I could throw a knife pretty well, which would beat the
hell out of fighting hand to hand.

I saw a video over on the Beretta forum on North Korea's Kim's body
guards. Those guys are really good. I wouldn't get into go hand to
hand with anyone like that, even if I had a knife and they didn't. They
are extreme well trained in the Marshall Arts and my advice would be to
avoid hand to hand combat with types like that at all cost.

Kim's body guards could pound bricks into a pile of power with their
hand, they could use their forehead to bust bricks and boards and even
drive nails into 4 by 4s. They took turns busting cane over each others
backs, and were pretty aerobic, even when using a handgun, and almost
alway hit their targets. Those guys would put the US Secret Service
folks to sham. If Kim's North Korea army is trained anywhere near a
well as his body guards, we could be in a heap of trouble if we go in there.
