Sytze,
The easiest way I know is to do the following

DECLARE INTEGER URLDownloadToFile IN urlmon.dll;
    INTEGER pCaller, STRING szURL, STRING szFileName,;
    INTEGER dwReserved, INTEGER lpfnCB

* Program to retrieve a file from a known URL
* nReturn=0 if file transfer is OK and <>0 if error or not found
*
LOCAL lcRemoteFile, lcLocalFile
Clear

lcRemoteFile = "http://www.filename.ext";
lcLocalFile  = "c:\temp\localfilename.ext"

nReturn = URLDownloadToFile (0, lcRemoteFile, lcLocalFile, 0, 0)

=MessageBox(iif(nReturn=0,"OK","FAIL"))

Subject: VFP9 autodownload

Someone once helped me with a neat routine so that my client can click
a button in my app and take you straight to a specified website.

This has really helped me where I want the client to do an update to
my application.
I want to take this a step further.
The web page has (say) 5 files they can choose from.
So, to eliminate downloading the wrong file,

can I get the client to click inside the app which will:

1 Jump them to the correct website
2 AND locate the specified file
3 AND begin the download process
without any user intervention/clicking requirement

Sytze
