Lou:
Long time no chat...
Dump the Linksys and look for a Netgear box. I had exactly the same issues with
a Linksys and no matter what it would
lock up on our Cablevision system. So one day after the 5th or so reset (for
the day) I bounced it off the wall and
bought a Netgear box and haven't had an issue since (well over a year with no
lockups).
I did all the firmware updates, cleaned the connectors, run new quad shielded
cable, had Cablevision over to check the
line, blah, blah, blah and nothing fixed it. It still locked up.
Look at Staples when they run a sale on the units and with
coupons/rebates/rewards you can buy one for under $20. I
think I paid $10 for mine. Trust me it isn't worth the issues to keep the
Linksys (IMHO) with all the issues I had.
Cisco should be ashamed of themselves!
Regards,

Jack
