It could be they use them for something else besides the tips although I think the original VFP didn't really need to make use of them, as most of the functionality used standard Win32. ActiveX controls that use tool tips can either draw them themselves, or use the common controls, like everyone else.. :) >Either way, it's a great argument for using common superclasses to set >it once and forget it.
