There are much better solutions of overpopulation than war, murder, genocide, or natural disasters. China, for example, instituted social programs to create a negative overall population growth going forward into the future. Each family in China is limited as to the number of children they can have. I haven't looked this up on the Internet, but I'm thinking that each family in China is limited to only one child, after which the female is sterilized.
India, whose population is mostly of the Hindu religion, has not address its overpopulation issue, because birth control/population control conflicts with the Hindu religion. Now, there is a moral issue that plays havoc with India's economics issues. <g> Consequently, population projects indicate that India will exceed China in population in the not to distance future.
