I remember your papers. That's why I began to use blat in the first place. I'm 
not broad siding you here, the
article was indispensable at the time. Unfortunately, blat has no verbose 
option, but, since it does go
through authentication, I'll bet the isp can detect it. There have not been any 
recent access changes,
otherwise I'd have to change the account settings in outlook as well.

No, but there are a lot of other possibilities, including SMTP AUTH or other 
requirements. Their support staff
should be able to tell you if they've made any recent changes.

Many tools have a "Verbose" capture option that will let you see all of the 
validation messages that go back
and forth between client and server. I've used that in a couple of 
installations where basic email was a
problem to get set up.
