Vain. 'Vein' is a blood vessel; 'vane' is a wind direction indicator.
They did die in vain. Nothing we do now can change that. All we can
do is prevent others from likewise dying in vain.

If we had some people with balls in Congress who would "follow the
money", I'll guarantee that you'll be sickened just how corrupt this
whole "war on terror" has become. Instead of putting the safety of
the country in the forefront, they've simply used scare tactics to
keep us from seeing what they are really up to.
