Subsidies undoubtedly have a role to play but Silicon Valley venture
capitalists, Vinod Kosla, Bill Gates, the Google guys, GE, Dupont, BP, GM,
Midwest farmers and many others are spending a fortune on alternative
energy. Of course the biggest potential to free the planet from fossil
fuels is nuclear power and there hasn't been a reactor built in the US since
1979. Can't understand why no one would want a nuclear reactor in their
back yard. Graham.
