I have been working with Satellite Forms a development language for Palm and
Pocket PC devices. There has been some talk about working with Janam devices
on the forum.

Looking for a recommendation from people here that might already be doing
something similar to this...

As a lean manufacturer we do a LOT of auditing of our inventory.
Currently we print out a list of things to audit and they walk around with
clipboards, find the item, count them up, enter the number onto the form
they printed, come back and use our current homegrown ERP system to enter in
the numbers.... it works, but...

Since I having nothing better to do (NOT) I was sitting here thinking that
it would be neat to have a handheld wireless device with a simple interface,
where they could scan the barcode with a handheld scanning device, enter the
QTY, do the confirmation step (Yes/No) and then commit. Should speed up the
process immensly...

I know people are out there doing exactly this sort of thing with these
sorts of devices, curious what you folks might be doing like this.

I'm already familiar with handheld scanners, I can write the code no
problem, wanting to know what sort of machines you could recommend.
Doesn't have to be armour plated I don't think, but reasonably rugged would
be nice...
