Hi Ed! How about a fine, community service and loss of license? Abortion can be illegal without being a capital offense. I think the community's interest lies in its need for the baby as a member of its population as much as preventing a death that may or may not amount to murder, depending on the religious belief of whoever is deciding. To the extent that the community's interest is religiously motivated, the freedom of religion issues apply, but religion is not the only motivator. New population members also provide long-term security to the community and give the community a legitimate interest in the safety of the new members. -- Regards, Pete http://www.pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
