Yeah, I've been very interested in the low-power server designs, like
the KuroBox (http://www.kurobox.com/mwiki/index.php/KuroBoxPro) or
Koolu (http://www.koolu.com/) for small, dedicated tasks that don't
require another machine, fan, power supply, etc. around the office.
These boxes make good thin clients or headless servers, save power,
don't noise pollute, and let you turn off old, energy-inefficient
boxes. Even one of the new Linksys routers (the WRTSL54GS) comes with
sufficient CPU, RAM and USB connections to serve as a file server and
perhaps even bittorrent client, without having to tie up PCs to do
that.
