Yeah, I've been very interested in the low-power server designs, like the KuroBox (http://www.kurobox.com/mwiki/index.php/KuroBoxPro) or Koolu (http://www.koolu.com/) for small, dedicated tasks that don't require another machine, fan, power supply, etc. around the office. These boxes make good thin clients or headless servers, save power, don't noise pollute, and let you turn off old, energy-inefficient boxes. Even one of the new Linksys routers (the WRTSL54GS) comes with sufficient CPU, RAM and USB connections to serve as a file server and perhaps even bittorrent client, without having to tie up PCs to do that. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
