When you have to buy an entire house full of them like we have to because our house is brand new, it does add up into several hundred dollars of expense. In our case, we'll bite the bullet and pay the cost because we are still running on solar/generator power, and we have to watch how many watts we use so that we can keep the expense down. Generator power is obscenely expensive these days. We are currently spending about $1,000 per month to generate power with a very efficient diesel generator. We go through an average of 300 gallons of diesel per month, running the generator 8 hours per day. I am waiting very impatiently for So. Cal. Edison to string the power lines down here.
