Thanks Michael, it works. Yes, both the ownpct and mastbred have comp_no fields, and one horse may have multiple owners, and one owner may own multiple horses, but I only want to list each owner once, therefore the "distinct".
I have a third (now second) "select" to pull the owners detail information. Speed is fast for either as we're not talking big tables, but is one way considered more "professional" than the other.?
