        p-chem usually refers to the study of chemistry using physics. Stuff  
like molecular interactions, electron probability clouds, crystal  
structure, etc.

        Organic chemistry deals with carbon. So stuff like coal, oil, CO2,  
benzene, etc., all fall into organic chem. Biochem is the study of  
those chemicals that are unique to living systems: proteins/enzymes,  
DNA, lipids, ATP/ADP/AMP, and how they work together to create a  
living organism.
