Peter,
You are MUCH better off simply generating a composite single cursor with a
field "record Type" and then set up the report to group break on the "record
Type" field.

1. This way it is really easy to modify the report layout if it changes
2. The SQL command(s) to generate the single cursor are simple to link
together using "union all" once you have sorted out the content.
3. You don’t have to bother with the Data Environment in the report as you
are using a single cursor so the report won’t have its own data session.

IF you have any problems shoot me an email but after 5:00 Sat as I'm going
flying for a few hours.

Subject: RE: Foxpro report needs two detail bands for two seperate tables.

Hi all

Hope someone can help.

All going well with my purchase orders module until it came to printing
the purchase order. The idea is to print the purchase order to a PDF
printer then email the file as an attachment to the factories in India
and China. The input form works well and mimics the existing work done
manually using excel. The form consists of a group of text box/combo
boxes for inputting PO Number, Customer details, Delivery dates,
Designer etc. the two grids for entering A) the products ordered and B)
the Packaging associated with the products. The on the bottom a group of
text box/edit boxes for Notes etc. The first block of PO's I saw did not
show packaging materials so my first stab at a PO in report writer was
simple, the header and footers linked to the text box, edit box, combo
boxes and the detail band used the table used for the grid. My problem
is: how do I get two detail bands to show the contents of the two tables
used by the two grids. The help file talks about being able to do it
with a table and two child tables but I can't get my head round that at
the moment. I have got it working as a tempory measure using Excel OLE
Automation poking the data individually into an Excel spreadsheet Then
printing this to the PDF Printer but this is quite slow. Please let me
know if you need any more information. I can give access to my machine
or talk on the phone free if that would help.

TIA.
