It would take a lefty to conclude that higher priced imports and lower priced 
exports would be bad for the US.  Look at it this way, foreign competitors for 
products made in the US (if you can find any) don't have as much of the unfair 
advantage of next to slave wages.  There is less of an advantage to 
multinationals to outsource to third world countries the jobs that used to pay 
well in the US.  To top it off, the money illegals send home is worth less, so 
the incentive to sneak in is lower.

Where is the problem?

If some are happy that foreign visitors come here more often and their money, 
that's fine, as long as it's with a US company, not another multinational that 
will just ship the money overseas.  

As far as people suffering because imported goods will cost more, I have more 
confidence in Walmart to figure out how to moderate that effect than anything 
the federal government can do to screw things up.  Besides the shoppers are 
forsaking the welfaire of their own fellow citizens to save a buck or two.  So 
I'm not quite so upset about that.
