"Hijacked" is such a strong term. I rather say there has been some
drift and going off on some tangents along the way, but that is normal
in any thread of any length. The U.S.A. has definitely become less of a
competitive force over the last 25 years, but we still produce some
pretty good hardware, software, hard goods, foods, etc. Still, the US
dollar has really lost value to other currencies recently; because, of
deficit spending and increases in the national debt.

It wasn't long ago that USA kids use to cross over into Canada to
exchange their dollars for Canadian quarters, which worked great in most
vending machine and video games in the USA. The kids could get 5
quarters for one US dollar back then, which meant they could play five
video games for a dollar instead of only 4.

Today, the US dollars has devalued against Canadian dollar, (eg the
loonie), to the point that the two currencies are on par with each
other. If things don't change soon, Canadian kids will be coming across
the border to exchange their Canadian loonies for five USA quarters. LOL

Regards,

LelandJ
