Gee, Ed -- I am not sure whether to say "congrats" or "my sympathies." Sounds like a tough rode to hoe; separated from family, trying to work for a living again, being a "team player" and all of that.
I'm sure if anyone can make the transition, you can. > there's a lot of work, but everyone and > his brother is bidding against you, so it's hard to find clients > willing to pay for experience when there are tons of low-cost > alternatives. This is the discouraging part. I find the same in PHP -- lots of people claim skills -- one of the loudest mouths on the PHP list is *17* -- Prospects don't know enough to value experience, whether design or business in general, to differentiate among techie types. Might as well hire Cousin Frieda's kid - "he just got out of tech school and he knows them computers real good." <sigh> Ken PS: I really don't think that this is OT, as it is personal, sure, but the reasons affect us all... At least we "Tech" subscribers would want to know... _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
