Yes.

I dual-booted for a couple of years. I didn't really get into Linux
until I switched over and started running WinXP in a virtual
machine...

Three that I can think of:
1. FAT32 is limited to 2Gb
2. No XP permissions can be set on the FAT32 volume.
3. You're still running XP  <g,d&r>...
