Here in Hollister we have a mix of cowboys, rednecks, soccer moms, gangsters, farmers, motorcycle nutjobs (both offroad and on) and professionals. The professionals mostly commute to Silicon Valley. So when I walk to the coffee shop to get my soy chai latte or something during the day I feel like I should probably be wearing an NRA cap for my own protection. And sometimes I wish I had a gun with me, but then again I'm glad I don't because I'd probably use it. We get the pickup trucks with the gunracks, and the girlfriend riding right next to the driver on the bench seat, as they swerve up on sidewalks at 40 MPH to avoid speedbumps, tossing their empty bud or coors cans into our yard. It's fun, in a wild-west kind of way.
