This is typical of the EU!  They want their unelected body to control
everything (and, Jean, the EU is NOT the European Parliament).  They can't
even get their own accounts past the auditors so why they are interfering
with other peoples economy I don't know.  Hopefully commonsense will
prevail, but I'm not confident, it hasn't so far!
