oh, and I freely admit being in favor of protectionist policies...that I 
have no qualms about making quite public.  I believe each nation should 
protect its own first, then reach out beyond its borders.  Preferential 
treatment for your citizens over non-citizens?  Absolutely.  Don't tell 
me we have to compete equally with non-citizens when the playing field 
isn't level/fair.  The Indians, according to NBC's Today Show article 
awhile back about "your job; your future" -- they work 6 days/week, 
about 10-12 hours/day.  No freakin' way I can compete equally with that 
and continue the regular US standard of living.  And that doesn't make 
me lazy either.  No American, in their right mind, would want to work 
those kinds of hours for the amount of compensation they get.
