After using this crazy thing called "GOOGLE", it appears as if the EEE can do just fine with external monitors with resolutions of 1680x1050, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 1024. It seems that the utility called "Powerstrip" helps to make this easier to configure. Shareware of US$29.95.
