It was working fast on my local machine and on my test machine. So I drove to the clients to find it really was slow. However, I also noted that everything else on the server was slow. Normally I wasn't allowed to touch the server as they had a support company. Well, I asked the manager to accompany me to the server room. I turned on the monitor and found the relatively under-powered server running the 3D Flowerbox screen saver. I obtained permission to turn off the screen saver and people came out of their offices to ask how come everything suddenly sped up.
