In the 90s I went to Germany to de-commission an old Novell server and
replace it with a NT4 box (progress eh?).

I had to transfer our app to the new server so the first thing I did
was to delete the 1000s of temporary files that had built up over the
years. I had a similar experience - people came out of their offices
to ask why everything had suddenly sped up!

Had a great time in Düsseldorf. They took me to a brew pub called the
'fox'! (in German of course). I still have a beer mat from there
somewhere. The food was fantastic - roast knuckle of pork, served
with sauerkraut and washed down with the dark beer they brew in the
pub!
