Steve:  I work for major corporations and my applications need to comply 
with all audits internal or SOX.  The language I use has never come into 
question.  They look at "are you transmitting sensitive information over 
SMTP?", "Do you have backup and restore procedures in place?" and the like.

My customers have hundreds of third party applications written in just 
about every language you can imagine.  Many of them are actually written 
in VFP!  The bottom line is are they in compliance with corporate 
policies and procedures.
