Whoops, I posted "TET offense" but it should have said "TET offensive".

Offense: The act of offending in any sense; esp., a crime or a sin,
 an affront or an injury.

Offensive:   The state or posture of one who offends or makes attack;
 aggressive attitude; the act of the attacking party; --

The Vietnam new years is in early February, and it was in early February
1998 when the Vietcong launched their attack on South Vietnam, including
Binh Thuy Air Base in the Mekong Delta area where I was stationed. For
the Americans this major battle became know as the "TET offensive", but
to the North Vietnamese and China, I'm sure it would have know as
something like "The Patriotic battle for a United Vietnam free of
foreign occupation" or som such. Same battle, just different names and
points of view.

And yes there were casualties during TET and after TET that I still
grieve today.
