My country did it in the 70's and again in the 90's. I hope we've
learned, though I suspect we don't have much saying in the issue. When
the bloody thieves (bankers I think you call'em) decide a country can be
sacked they move influences and bribe politicians and normal people can
just watch... spend money they haven't earned and then suffer, or don't
spend what they haven't earned and then suffer.
Only thing that has changed is that they used to do their "business" in
certain parts of the world, whereas now they've found out they can do it
anywhere. So there you go. Our only advantage is that we've seen the
movie and know how it goes.
Political coups also used to be circumscribed to certain parts of the
world. But I guess the same thing will happen with that. After all, why
would an officer that's tortured, murdered and planned coups abroad, not
use his knowledge to take his own country where he wants to. Or do you
think that torturing or murdering a US citizen will make any difference
to them?
You've trained them, soon you'll suffer them (though I hope I'm wrong).
