Steve replaced Harold Ford Jr. who lost in a Senate race. Jr. was of prime stock for Memphis Politics. He was the son of a congressman, educated in ??? Notre Dame I think. I can't see how our local residents felt a close tie Jr.? He lived in DC, was only in town as needed, brought in some funding for some things but nothing major that I remember. He didn't sound or act like our local population. He had composure and restraint. He listened to people instead of shouting or pulling a gun. Steve has really tried to become the "friend" of his constituents. To bad he missed the part about being a good Congressman. As a freshman he attended sessions and got on some lame committees. Unfortunately he didin't get anything going for Memphis. This twit in Murfreesboro is about 3 to 4 hours drive away from us. So this is all a Black Church thing and I don't see Steve's replacement doing a good job either. Nikki Tinker comes across as a stuck up cheerleader, who will get smacked around in DC or she will have to sleep with a lot of people to get what she wants.
