Hi Ed!

You just want God to meet YOUR conditions, it doesn't seem to occur to you for 
you to meet His. Faith is the key, and faith is free for the believing.

If you believe, the "simple questions" are all answered by the fact that it is 
God's creation and He gets to do it His way because He IS God. He doesn't 
have to explain, and we don't have to know everything, we need only believe 
that He is God.

It was fun, no doubt, for you to truculently argue with the priests as a 
teenager, but now you are a man. It is time for you to believe in God. If you 
believe you can be saved from being "tortured for all eternity".
