Whoops, I checked the spelling, but accidentally sent the email before
proof reading it, so I'm sending it again.

Based on information I've received, my VW TDI Jetta wagon has a top
speed of 117 mph, which is plenty of speed for my driving. I'm not sure
of the top speed of the gasoline engine VW Golf.

Diesel burns a little slower than gasoline, which put a limit of around
5,000 rpm for the diesel engine. Any rpms above the 5,000 rpms will
yield little additional power, because the rpm will be running faster
than the engine's ability to burn the diesel fuel. My VW Jetta only has
a five speed transmission, and the fifth gear, (eg overdrive), will
redline at around 117 mph at 5,000 rpm. If I wanted to have a higher
top speed, I would need a transmission with a six, seventh, etc gear to
keep the rpms in the sweet zone as my speed increased.
The top speed on some VW gasoline models tops out via the onboard
computer chip, which mean the top speed of some models is controlled by
engine computer. I prefer diesel over gasoline engines; because, even
though diesel burns slower than gasoline, diesel has more energy per
gallon than a gallon of gasoline, I overall I get a lot more out of
diesel than gasoline.

I was impressed with the VW Golf's handling at speeds somewhere between
110 and 115 mph, based on the video. My biggest question is why the guy
driving the VW Golf still has a drivers license? LOL
