Obama is the chairman of the subcommittee that has oversight over the conflict in Afghanistan. He has been chairman since January of 2007, and has not held any congressional hearings on Afghanistan because he is too busy running for president. I first heard about it in the debate on Tuesday. When he was questioned about it the reason he gave for not doing anything is that he has only been in charge for 13 months and he has not yet had time.
