I don't know that much about some of the historical folk either. Off the top
of my head, Bill Clinton did not enlist in Vietnam, and essentially waited
out the draft until it ended by being a student outside the country. It cost
him a lot in the first election, but he still managed to win.

John Adams was one of the original revolutionaries. He wasn't a war leader,
but signers of the Declaration of Independence in those days had big targets
painted on them. Many of them were executed as traitors to King George and
still more were burned out and lost their homes and families. He was a
different kind of hero.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was a crippled polio victim and could not have served.
