Some guy came up to me at the gas station asking if mine was a diesel. I
told my wife to get ready, we were about to be rock stars! The higher the
price goes on fuel, the more people will be axing me questions about my bug.

Yeah, I've been getting around 39 to 40 mpg driving almost exclusive 
around Abilene, and that is while pushing it, rather than trying to 
squeeze top mpg out of my 2005 TDI VW Jetta Wagon.  As the price of 
petrol continue up, I appreciate my TDI more and more.
