Many were attached to devises with designations like B-17, B-29 and P-51... and 
my father spent four years living in a tent in airbases in England keeping them 
flying so we don't have to speak German.

Your lack of understanding of the right to bear arms indicates an inordinate 
amount of trust in the government to protect you from the lawless elements in 
your society.  Beyond this even are the efforts of dictators (and Democrats) to 
disarm the people they wish to control.  Hmmmmmm.

As far as keeping guns out of the hands of idiots, any such legislation would 
be deemed discriminatory, and for some reason, our politicians tend to want to 
stand up for their own.
