Steve Bodnar did a session on VFP and MapPoint at FoxForward 2007 and Essential Fox 2003. Andrew MacNeill wrote an article in FoxPro Advisor in December 2000 on MapPoint, John Millman wrote "Add a Map to Your App" using the VFP 9 PolyPoints in November 2004 issue if FoxPro Advisor, and Thomas J. Francl wrote "Map It with Street Wizard Pro" in the December 2002 issue of FoxPro Advisor.
The licensing for MapPoint is a bit expensive if you have lots of people using the functionality, but the COM object is easy to work with and works well with VFP, especially for routing. I have a client using Street Wizard in his vertical market app and it works well and does routing too.
