Just caught the last part of some BS segment on FNC. What a crock of shit.
This pro-raise-the-limit-for-immigrant-labor stiff said that they do all of the advertising and job fairs and just can't get anybody. Again they paint it as the Americans just don't have any interest in those jobs. Thankfully, they had someone who wasn't representing the Hospitality industry (and thus a fair and balanced perspective--LOL!), and that intelligent fellow said "it's simple: pay more and keep the American workers." How those bean-counters can sleep at night thinking that they're in the right, I don't know....sure, don't pay $40/hr for a ski lift worker, but would just a couple bucks of savings per hour be worth going after the non-native workers? This crap reminds me of that secret filming of the Pittsburgh law firm that was helping companies to do the absolute least they had to legally, yet practices that would screen out ANY American workers so they could pluck the (cheaper) foreign talent. Ok...I'm ready for the flames. <g> Feel free to substitute your native country in the American references above.
