Gureumi, Don't automatically assume that the software that compiles and runs OK on VS2K5 will run unmodified on 2K8. There are quite a few changes which are not immediately obvious. Other than that, the performance is about the same and support for SQL Server is vastly improved over the 2K5 software.
As of Linq, as of yet I haven't had any reason to use it apart from running the demonstration programs so I can't really comment. Another point worth mentioning is that most 3rd party software on 2K5 is NOT transferable to 2K8 without paying additional costs. That caught us out a little as we immediately assumed there would be an upgrade offered by most component suppliers, but it seems that the general consensus amongst suppliers is that the 2K8 software is a completely new buy, so beware and check first. Oh, yes the support for PDA devices is also much better and the main/only reason I use 2K8. I am trying to convince the rest of my team members to move to '08, but they want to wait a bit more and stick to '05. Anybody who want to give me some tips on this? Thank a lot. gureumi On Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 9:54 AM, David Crooks <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Tuesday, April 15, 2008 9:40 AM Gil Hale wrote: > > >WTF?
