I've used the panasonic network cameras before, for security purposes, with success. You plug it into the ethernet, and then connect to it with http to control pan, tilt, and zoom, and ftp to grab the picture(s). Or you could use any old digital camera with USB, but what are you going to connect the USB into? I'd use an independent network camera.
