Mike, Have you considered using InnoSetup vs. InstallShield? (Bias: I am an ex-InstallShield customer and I am NOT a fan of InstallShield).
Regarding InnoSetup: These type of questions are easily answered in the InnoSetup newsgroups and/or by searching the InnoSetup newsgroups archives.
