Nah, not really. To tie into the original post I made, it's just that most 
computer "experts" are too lazy to get into Linux, so they don't know about 
it, so they don't tell people about it, so it's up to the end users to find 
out on their own.

They will eventually. When the thousandth critical patch is released for 
the Windows OS and it breaks the their apps for the thousandth time, etc, 
etc. They'll stop listening to the same droning from the so called 
"computer experts" and find something they can rely upon.
