It depends on the refrigerator and the replacement, actually. In our case
the old fridge kept getting left with each house we sold so we had to buy
new ones when moving. Our fridge now is 7 years old and was the
ultra-efficient model back then. We'll be keeping it as it still compares
well with current fridge models.
