Funny, it seems to me that they were participating as members of the
Democratic Party and their primary system for selecting a nominee for
President.

owed the nomination, and when they didn't win, they took their ball
and sulked home?

I didn't see a single Republican crossover being interviewed. The
typical line was "I've been a Democrat all my life, but I'm going to
vote for McCain rather than Obama!"

This was a contest with rules that were agreed upon at the outset;
the only one looking to change them was Clinton. When you enter the
contest, you know that there is a very good chance that you will not
win. Clinton is not the only one who did not get the nomination who
wanted it.
To say that your preference for president is predicated on that
person having a vagina is the height of sexism. And to claim that the
only reason that people like me who started out supporting Clinton and
then switched to Obama is somehow based on sexism is insulting and
demeaning, and makes what you have to say infinitely less interesting.
