Here's my take on the issues above. Obama is all platitudes as far as I can see. He has virtually no record to assess. As for the McCain selections. I think he would be stronger for the following reasons: 1 War - McCain is a warrior, who comes from a warrior lineage. He understands what it takes to keep the country safe and soverign. 2 Economy - McCain will not throw the Bush tax cuts away, nor raise the capital gains taxes up to 25% like Obama says he will. Removing the taxes and jacking up the capital gains will be terrible for the economy. 3 Drilling our own oil - McCain is now talking about us using our own resources, while Obama thinks we should develop other strategies, which will take a decade to happen. It will be much quicker if we drill AND look at alternatives. 4 Taxes - see above. 5 Energy independence - see above. 6 Healthcare - unknown on McCain. Obama, I assume wants cradle to grave healthcare. 7-9 Education,Medicare,SSI - unknown on McCain and Obama 10 Terrorism - McCain hands down 11 2nd Amendment - McCain supported the Supreme Ct's latest ruling, Obama has a track record against the ct ruling and gave a "me too" comment regarding the latest case. 12 Supreme Court - McCain has promised to put sane(conservative) judges on the court. Obama would probably go for more Kikis (Ruth Bader Ginsburg). I can't see any reason, not one issue, that would cause me to vote for Obama. I am not a single issue person, so that isn't something that I cling to.
