The charge of racism is so weak. I'd vote for a black person in a heartbeat
over a white person if his/her positions on the issues were more
conservative than the white person's. It's about ideas and character, not
color or party. 

In this case Obama has neither the character nor ideas that I like in a
president, and McCain has only marginally favorable character (there are
parts of his character I distrust, and I'm still looking for hard evidence
that he has any ideas). 

Plus, the other thing to consider is whether it makes sense to give either
party both houses in Congress and the White House. Gridlock is good.

So it's McCain for me, and the more I think about the potential Dem
triumvirate of Pelosi, Reid and Obama, the more I start to warm up to the
senile old backstabber.
