Hi all,
I posted this last week with two detail bands and haven't been able to make
it happen. So, rather than dealing with two detail bands right now, I'd
like to simplify things. I want to group the data twice, based upon one
table (RAWMATERIAL) and have detail lines based upon another table
(PODETAIL). Here's how I'd like it to be:
GRADE 10 Black
GRADE 10 DIAMETER .500
PO # WEIGHT
100 10,000
101 11,500
GRADE 10 DIAMETER .600
GRADE 10 DIAMETER .700
PO # WEIGHT
102 15,000
GRADE 11 Silver
GRADE 11 DIAMETER .250
GRADE 11 DIAMETER .400
PO # WEIGHT
103 12,000
Etc.
I've got no problem at all with breaking out the GRADE in Group Header 1 and
putting the GRADE/DIAMETER stuff in a Detail band. This will give me a very
simple listing, but we need more.
When I put the GRADE in Group Header 1 and the GRADE/DIAMETER stuff in Group
Header 2, I don't see the individual GRADE/DIAMETER listings. It seems as
though it's leaving the appropriate space for them but doesn't show them.
For example, if there are 10 different DIAMETERS for GRADE 10, it'll leave
about 10 blank lines. If there are 30 different DIAMETERS for GRADE 11,
it'll leave about 30 blank lines. Etc. But it doesn't show them.
And when I try to include the PO information in a Detail band, it lists the
first PO in the PODETAIL table only. And it lists it one for each
GRADE/DIAMETER. For example, the first PO in the system is PO#150. If
there are 10 different DIAMETERS for GRADE 10, I'll see PO#150 ten times.
And if there are 30 different DIAMETERS for GRADE 11, I'll see PO#150 listed
30 times. Etc.
The tables I've got in the system (set up in the Data Environment window)
are:
RAWMATERIAL ordered by GRADE_DIAM
RAWCODES ordered by CODE
PODETAIL ordered by GRADE_DIAM
My relations are:
RAWMATERIAL.grade -> RAWCODES (This is how I get "Black" or "Silver" for the
main grouping)
RAWMATERIAL.grade_diam -> PODETAIL.grade_diam
InitialSelectedAlias is RAWMATERIAL
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the natives are getting restless.
:) This is report they need ASAP.
Cathy P: I'm not sure if what I sent you last week was able to clear things
up or not, so hopefully this will simplify everything and explain it better
so we can start from scratch on this again.
If there's anything else anyone needs to know or for me to clarify, please
feel free to ask and I'll give you whatever information you need to help me
figure this one out.
Thanks very much, all!
John
